Strapping

Strapping is used to secure bundles of product typically for shipping and storage. Strapping your products can help with saving space by keeping materials together in neat bundles.

Strapping multiple small parcels together can achieve savings in shipping costs.

  • Polypropylene Strapping

Polyprop strapping it is the least expensive and most common type of strapping used on the market. It also requires a smaller investment in tools compared to steel and polyester. Polyprop strapping normally has an embossed texture on its surface, which improves its holding ability in the seal or buckle.

    Benefits of Polypropylene Strapping include:

    • Less expensive than steel and Polyester (PET) Strapping
    • High strap tension which retains it's tension even when loads move or shrink
    • No corner damage of the load, low friction and no rust marks on product
    • Non-metallic material and therefore non corrosive
    • Easy to handle for strapping, disposal and recycling processes
    • Much safer than steel with less safety hazards and will not snap back when cut
    • Available in multiple colours for coding purposes

Polyprop strapping is available for hand or machine application, and are available in various strengths, including Standard, Premium and Heavy Duty.

Following are the common sizes we stock:

  • Steel Strapping

Steel strapping is the strongest variety of strapping and is therefore used for the most demanding, heavy-duty applications.

    Benefits of Steel Strapping include:

    • The strongest strapping available
    • Compared to most other strapping materials, it is also extremely resistant to UV radiation, making it less likely to corrode over time when exposed to the outdoors
    • The amount of weight it can take before breaking is immense, making it the number one choice for heavy shipments

Following are the common sizes we stock:

  • Polyester (PET) Strapping

Polyester strapping is the strongest plastic strapping material of the two (polyester vs. polypropylene). The highest initial tension can be applied and retained over a longer period of time compared to other plastic strapping materials. Polyester is also available in machine grade and is very easy to recycle.

Benefits of Polyester (PET) Strapping include:

    • Less expensive than steel Strapping
    • Low volume cost (shipping) and less coil change during production
    • High strap tension, good impact resistance and retained tension even loads move or shrink
    • No corner damage of the load, low friction and no rust marks on product
    • Equal corner tension distribution
    • Non-metallic material and therefore non corrosive
    • Resists to high degree environmental influences, easy handling for disposal or recycling process
    • Much safer than steel, less safety hazards and does not snap back when cut

  • Woven Polyester and Cord Strapping

Polyester Corded and Woven Strapping are manufactured from high tenacity polyester yarns. They are an alternative to steel and PET Strapping. Woven polyester and cord strapping provides the same performance as steel strap, at a lower cost and is much safer than steel with less safety hazards.

Benefits of Woven Polyester Cord Strapping include:

    • Same performance as steel strap, at a fraction of the cost
    • Yield per roll three times that of steel
    • Much safer than steel, less safety hazards and does not snap back when cut
